The Bright World Foundation (BWF),
a non-profit organization, was established in 2001 by Dr. Myung Mike Hong, a renown coating chemist, an entrepreneur, and a philanthropist. The Foundation was named after his name, which means "widely bright place" in Korean.
Dr. HongĄ¯s philanthropic activity
was spurred on by the civil unrest that took place in Los Angeles in 1992. He believes strongly that communication and interaction are essential in fostering peace and harmony in the multi-ethnic community.
Thus, the Foundation's goal is to help build the sense of community by bridging the gap among different cultural groups through productive and effective engagement. |
